Back Story…

When I was younger, I use to think that I knew better than what the elders were telling me.  Most of the time, I ended up sad when I didn’t listen to them. But as I aged, and started contemplating where I am now, I cannot help but wonder how things would have turned out had I listened to them or had I not listened.

As I have become a mother to my two boys and a guardian to two teenagers, things are becoming familiar to me. But this time, I am at the other side of the table, worrying how my children and wards will turn out with their choices.

Wisdom of the younger is the things that I wish I had known at those specific periods of my life.  The lessons that I must learn and should have learned that could have made me a better mother, a better person, and a better Muslim.

They say time is something that will never return to you.  But it is something that will teach you what you need to learn.  All you have to do is to seek for them which are freely given to us by God and by the universe.  As a mother, I strive to impart to my children and others to show them the life lessons which they may or may not heed.  Praying hard that they will not make the same mistakes that I did when I was their age, and praying much harder that they will learn from others without making the same mistakes on their own.
