This work is based on 17th century South Asian Sufi poet Bulleh Shah's poetry. The poem is titled "Night of Union" and shows a female wearing traditional bridal red colour dress holding a fully blossomed pink lotus in her left hand, showing her right hand pushing the sun upwards to stop the day to fall. It shows a female power who can push all boundaries in order to achieve her goals. My work was never based on a gender. I have always worked on text based ideas. I am sending some of my old work, which is more traditional or painted in a traditional framework.
